Trauma Informed Practices 101 Basic Understanding of Trauma: working definitions of Trauma and foundational knowledge. This includes; understanding the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) study, the relationship of adverse experiences and brain development, and the principles of a trauma informed approach. 2-4 hours.
Trauma Informed Practices 102 A deep dive into trauma informed approaches and tools to support resiliency in children and families. This could be the next steps for people who have foundational knowledge, or attached to a 101 training to complete a day’s worth of training.
Trauma Informed Language Our words matter. If you have a basic knowledge of Trauma Informed Practices, this is an additional training about language and how it effects change. A trauma informed approach to verbal and nonverbal language and the impact on children and families.
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and Their Effects Across the Lifespan Understanding of ACE study and the developmental impacts this has at different times of life- from infancy to adulthood. A better understanding of how to intervene with the children and families we work to support.
Courageous Engagement when there is Conflict Using your authentic self to effectively communicate; including understanding perspective, active listening, and directive communication skills in difficult situations. Leaning into conversational responses; including how to respond to passive aggressive language, how to respond to criticism, and how to raise delicate issues. And, how to breathe along the way.

Crisis Intervention Approaches: Shifting paradigms within belief systems The lens with which we see any situation is first filtered through our belief system to create our response. This is an understanding of how belief is built, how to recognize our own belief system and biases, and tools to acknowledge other’s belief systems as different (not wrong).
